30-10-2011 Gion Corner

This day was my birthday and because of that we decided 

to go to Gion Corner in the evening to see a show.

But first we went to see the Byodion temple.

It was raining all day so that was a bit sad.

At the temple we met these girls, so pretty!

So at the start of the show at Gion corner they asked if two persons wanted

to participate in the tea ceremony, I got picked and a lady from France was picked.

The little rice cake was sweet and the tea a bit bitter, very nice together.

This was the Gagaku court music dance performance.

Kyogen theatre play.

Maiko dance.

I really enjoyed the whole show.

When we got back at our hotel, this nice birthday card and candy was waiting for me.

When we were in Kyoto I got these Matcha (green tea) products.

Powder to make drinks, like Matcha latte!

28-10-2011 Kyoto Gion

This day we went in Kyoto to Gion, the Geisha district.

We saw some very pretty Maiko and Geisha's.

If you also are planning on going here, from around 17:00 

the Maiko's and Geisha's start working, 

so the change is big you will spot them.

In a back street we saw this fat cat.

Also this cutie was in the backstreet.

Here is a Geisha (Geiko) walking by very fast.

You can see she is a Maiko because of the long fabric on her back.

Third Japan trip: Day 6: 24-03-2009

Today we went to Kyoto.



 First we had some coffee at Shin-Osaka.


 

We went to this temple:
 
   

There was a foreign girl dressed as a geisha

 
 

After this we went to Gion, it was funny to see all the people there hunting for Geisha's .
